چکیده
The innovation of the new psychoactive substances (NPS) market requires rapid identification that can be a risk to public health, in order reduce damage from their use. Twelve seized products suspected contain illicit were analyzed by attenuated total reflectance Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (ATR-FTIR), gas chromatography coupled mass spectrometry (GC-MS), and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR). Synthetic cathinones (SCat) found all products, either as single component or mixtures. Infrared spectra consistent with molecular structure SCat, showing an intense absorption band at 1700–1674 cm?1, corresponding carbonyl stretching, medium/strong peak 1605–1580 indicating stretching vibrations aromatic ring (C=C) bands relative low intensity frequencies near 2700–2400 amine salt. It was possible identify eight cathinone derivatives GC-MS NMR analysis: 4?-methyl-?-pyrrolidinohexanophenone (MPHP), ?-pyrrolidinohexanophenone (?-PHP), 3-fluoromethcathinone (3-FMC), methedrone, methylone, buphedrone, N-ethylcathinone, pentedrone. Among adulterants these samples, caffeine most frequently detected substance, followed ethylphenidate. These results highlight prevalence SCat materials Portuguese market. Reference standards are usually required for confirmation, but when reference not available, combination complementary techniques is fundamental unequivocal such substances.

Comparative Behavioral Pharmacology of Three Pyrrolidine-Containing Synthetic Cathinone Derivatives.
Synthetic cathinones, often sold as "bath salts," are a popular class of recreational drugs used as quasi-legal alternatives to cocaine, methamphetamine, and methylenedioxymethamphetamine. The increased prevalence and health consequences of synthetic cathinone use has prompted regulatory agencies to control a number of these compounds; however, a broad class of analogous compounds known as the ...
متن کاملIsolation and structural determination of non-racemic tertiary cathinone derivatives.
The racemic tertiary cathinones N,N-dimethylcathinone (1), N,N-diethylcathinone (2) and 2-(1-pyrrolidinyl)-propiophenone (3) have been prepared in reasonable yield and characterized using NMR and mass spectroscopy. HPLC indicates that these compounds are isolated as the anticipated racemic mixture. These can then be co-crystallized with (+)-O,O′-di-p-toluoyl-D-tartaric, (+)-O,O′-dibenzoyl-D-tar...
متن کاملTechniques for High Resolution Imaging of Wood Structure
High resolution imaging of wood requires the development of measurement techniques for nondestructive characterisation of this material. The techniques ranging from ionizing radiation to thermal techniques, microwaves, ultrasonics and nuclear magnetic resonance, provide excellent means of obtaining information about the internal structure of wood. The most relevant technique for the imaging of ...

The main objective of this paper is to use a computational intelligence algorithm for preparing a mapping map that categorizes different patterns of identification of infected areas and changes in radiation pollution. In this paper, the use of the fuzzy inference system has been proposed to determine the degree of radiation contamination in the regions. The study uses ultra-high resolution spec...
متن کاملActions of amphetamine derivatives and cathinone at the noradrenaline transporter.
We have recently shown that methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA), methylenedioxyamphetamine (MDA), cathinone and methylenedioxyethylamphetamine (MDEA) have a cocaine-like action to potentiate the contractile actions of noradrenaline but not isoprenaline in the 1-Hz paced rat right ventricle. The purpose of this study was to directly test the actions of these compounds at the noradrenaline trans...
